QAGTC South with Sue Prior presents:
One deceptively simple, time efficient and effective method of addressing the social-emotional and learning needs simultaneously for students who are gifted is through the use of levelled questioning such as Bloom’s.
Parents can also use this approach to stretch their gifted children’s thinking and focus on the disposition of curiosity and the process of finding out. Similarly, the Australian curriculum explains that in its 3-dimensional approach to learning, the general capability of critical and creative thinking includes the elements of inquiring, generating ideas, reflecting, and analysing, based on the work of Bloom and others.
So, by combining Bloom's and critical and creative thinking we are addressing the affective and cognitive domains of diverse children who are gifted. Teachers are expected to teach diverse children with their varying abilities all at the same time, which is often described as inclusive education, so how can we support learners who are gifted to bloom where they are planted?
In this session an overview of Bloom’s will be presented with links to the critical and creative thinking focus of ACARA 9.0 with some practical strategies to implement and handouts to take home.
Beauty and The Bees

The theme for World Food Day 2022 is 'Leave No One Behind'.
Better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life.
On the day we will be:
Learning about our local food heroes, such as meeting Arran, a farmer from Millen Farm.
Participating in some fun food activities
Making a terrarium
Planting some seedlings to take home

If you are joining the adult workshop with the Millen Farm farmers, why not let the kids go free range for the hour with #TheLadyBugLady from Prior Learning also at Millen Farm.
Let them dabble in a range of activities to get a taste for what's on offer at Millen Farm in the coming school holidays and let us know what they would like to learn about the environment.
Accessibility Information: The area is mostly flat ground but a little uneven in some parts. Please let us know if you have specific accessibility requirements in the notes at checkout.
There is a porta loo on site, however there are no other bathroom facilities available.
We have access to an indoor area, so in case of any wet weather the event can still go ahead.

Prior Learning will have a stall Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August as part of the Samford Edible Garden Trail at Millen Farm. 🌱
There will be heaps of nature related activities and goodies, as well as information about the education services we have to offer!
